Dust Suppression Theory

Theory Behind Dust Suppression

Some people have the opinion that the best way to suppress dust is simply to spray greater quantities of water.

Basic research onĀ Dust Suppression showed that if a sufficient number of water droplets of approximately the same size diameter as the dust particle could be produced, the probability of collision between the two would be extremely high.

When water droplets that are sprayed to control dust are too large, the dust particles flow around the droplet, and thus are not absorbed – but water droplets too small simply evaporate.

Tecpro Australia have a large range of spray nozzles and fog makers available that are often used for dust suppression and our technical consultants can assist or design a dust suppression system tailored to your requirements.
